A DIFFERENT STARTING POINT
You deserve a place to connect without wondering who is profiting from your personal life. We’re building a safer direction for social media, with respect, accountability and community at its foundation.
Iswi’s published commitments reject the sale of individual profiles and behavioural advertising. Your participation should serve you.
Read the commitmentsRaise an idea, discuss it, and put it to a vote. Public civic records are designed to be verifiable, so decisions come with a history.
See how it worksThe destination is member ownership and governance. Early participants can help build the culture, tools and rules that make it possible.
Explore the bigger ideaThe incentives behind platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok deserve scrutiny. These official records explain why privacy and accountability need to be designed into the next generation of social technology.
The FTC reported extensive data collection and incentives to monetize it through targeted advertising.
Read the report FTC SETTLEMENT · JULY 2019A settlement of FTC charges concerning privacy promises and an earlier order, with new oversight requirements.
Read the official record DOJ SETTLEMENT · AUG 2026The DOJ announced a $400 million settlement. The resolved claims were allegations; liability was not determined.

A LITTLE CURIOSITY GOES A LONG WAY
No blockchain background needed. Start with the story, explore the technology, and see why a different kind of platform matters.

Several independent participants keep copies of the shared record.
A simplified illustration. Real security depends on the consensus rules and the independence of the network.
SHARED TRUST, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE
Decentralisation means distributing responsibility. A blockchain links records together so changes can be detected and participants can check the history.
Votes and civic actions leave evidence that can be independently checked.
Private messages and identifying data are intended to stay off-chain. Public civic participation creates a lasting record.
Iswi-Linc is working towards broader independent validation. Decentralisation is a process with milestones to verify.
THE DESTINATION IS OURS
The ambition goes beyond a better app. A community that governs its own platform could also pool its skills and resources to care for one another.
Each member a voice.
All voices, one people.
THE ISWI COOPERATIVE · FOUNDING MANIFESTO
A social and civic suite where you can connect, raise ideas and participate.
Verifiable records, independent validation and clear rules people can examine.
A path towards member ownership, with a governance framework shaped and ratified by the community.
A proposed cooperative pooling skills and resources for education, health, housing and everyday needs.
HELP SHAPE WHAT COMES NEXT
We use “Big Social” to describe billionaire-controlled, for-profit social media platforms. Iswi-Linc is building a different direction: social connection, civic participation and a future shaped by its community. Explore the early-access app and judge the work for yourself.
SEE IT. QUESTION IT. HELP SHAPE IT.
Explore the app, watch the explainers and tell us what makes a useful conversation. We are gathering feedback as we prepare the next stage of Iswi-Linc.
BUILDING TOWARDS LAUNCH
We plan to establish a nonprofit in the United States before opening financial, equipment or validator-hosting contribution programmes. We are not accepting those contributions now.
Our target for a fuller launch is early December 2026, subject to nonprofit readiness and the platform being ready. This is a target, not a confirmed launch date.
Tell us what you would like to see at launch. Leave an email if you would like a personal reply; this does not subscribe you to a mailing list.
THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU HERE
You don’t need to be a developer to make a difference. Try the app. Tell us what feels right and what needs work. Bring a question, an idea, or your hopes for launch.
Your experience can guide what we build next.
Your feedback on conversations, accessibility and civic participation can help shape the next stage.
Share the idea with someone who wants a better social world.
GOOD QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME
Iswi-Linc is the name for the application suite: social feeds, communities, ideas and propositions, voting, video, private communication, and the blockchain tools that support public accountability. The suite also includes developing marketplace and wallet functions.
You can explore the early-access app now. It is still in active development, so features can change and records may be reset during testing. Your feedback helps the team make it more useful, accessible and dependable. It is designed for adults aged 18 and over.
It means working towards a platform whose incentives respect people: limits on data exploitation, clear privacy rules, verifiable civic records and accountable governance. It does not mean any software is risk-free. Read the app’s current policies and testing notices before sharing information or relying on a record.
The published design keeps private messages and identifying information off-chain. Public civic activity, including votes, can create lasting pseudonymous records. That distinction matters: an account can be deleted while its public civic history remains. The current testing phase allows resets; production permanence is the intended destination.
Member ownership and governance are the intended destination. The founding manifesto proposes a five-year stewardship period and a governance framework ratified by members. The precise legal structure, eligibility, rights and transfer arrangements still need to be established. Signing up today does not automatically grant an ownership share.
Financial, equipment and validator-hosting contribution programmes are deferred until the planned US nonprofit setup is complete. No such contributions are being accepted now. The published platform terms also describe founder support initially, followed by paid public-interest research and institutional civic tools, with fees reinvested into the platform. Voting and posting are intended to remain free. Iswi SA Compute is a separate infrastructure business.
